The Graduate Record Examination also known as GRE Test is an exam made and administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Those who are usually taken the GRE are students, because it helps them to graduate high school , but it also serves as a measure for the applicants.
The GRE Test is divided in two parts: the general exam, and the subject test. The general GRE exam is usually required when you graduate school, and the subject tests are optional but they can also be required, but this depends on the graduate program.
You can register for the GRE Test in several ways. Firstly, you can complete the registration form online,on the Educational Testing Service official website, or you can register by phone. You can also register by mail, completing the application form, which is available in the GRE test bulletin. If you register by phone or online, you will receive a registration confirmation number. If you register by mail, you will have to download an Authorization Voucher Request Form, and after that you have to print it and send it to an address, which can be found in the bulletin. A voucher it’s going to be send back to the registrant in maximum four weeks, and then, you will have to call at ETS to schedule a testing meeting. The exam contains four sections. The first section is a writing section, but the other three made of key questions. The multiple choice exams will test you verbal abilities, another will test your quantitative abilities and the third exam will be an experimental one, which is not included in the final score. The GRE test takers don’t have to know which one of those three sections is going to be the experimental one. You have approximately 4 hours to finish the test.
