ACT Test

The ACT Test is mostly used by high school students who are looking for admission to colleges and universities after they graduate.You can use this test to find out an applicant’s general education stage and his ability to succeed in college classes.The ACT Test has four areas from which you can choose: English, mathematics, reading, and science. It also has an optional writing test, with one essay question.

You can register for the ACT Test in two ways.The first way is to register online,and it takes between one hour and one hour and a half  to complete the form, and you can also find details about the information needed  for registration on the ACT Test website. The second one is to complete the registration through the mail by using a registration packet,which can be taken from high schools, or it can be requested by filling out an online form on the ACT website. If you register for the ACT test, you have to pay all the taxes, and these taxes can be also fond on their website.The dates when the ACT Test occurs are October, December, February, April, and June. It is better  that the ACT test to be taken two months before any college, university, or scholarship application deadlines.

The ACT test is firstly, a multiple choice test, with an optional essay, if you pass the writing test. The test has 215  key questions and you need approximately three and a half hours to finish it. But if you pass the writing text, the total time needed for  the ACT test is four hours, including breaks. The English section contain 75 key questions, and  the students have 45 minutes to finish this section. This section  also contains five prose passages, each one accompanied by multiple choice questions. The test refers to standard written English, like punctuation (13%), grammar and usage (16%), sentence structure (24%), and rhetorical abilities, like strategy (16%), organization (15%), and style (16%).

The mathematics section also contains key questions, but only 60 and the students have 60 minutes to finish it.The math section tests abilities  that are usually acquired at the end of the eleven grade like:  pre-algebra (23%)/elementary algebra (17%), intermediate algebra (15%)/coordinate geometry (15%), and plane geometry (23%)/trigonometry (7%).

The reading section of the test contains 40 multiple choice questions, and the granted time is  35 minutes.This section  is based  on a variety of different sections, such as: social studies (25%), natural sciences (25%), prose fiction (25%), and humanities (25%).

The science section of the ACT test contains 40 multiple choice questions, and also students have 35 minutes to complete it.. This section  necessary abilities are  in the natural sciences, such as interpretation, analysis, evaluation, reasoning, and problem solving.Especially, the test contains questions refering to data interpretation (38%), research summaries (45%), and conflicting viewpoints (17%). It is supposed that the students have taken a course in high school in Earth or physical science, and biology. The optional writing test it’s an essay that which have to be written in 30 minutes.
